Macbook pro santa rosa 8600m GT drivers

I know people had some gripes about them and issues with how they performed in some 3d applications as well as in things like photoshop. A lot of the stuff I've read speculates that the drivers Nvidia made were not so awesome, I was looking at a 2.4Ghz 17" on criag's list for $1,500 and was wondering if those things were ever resolved? :>

The OS X drivers are written by Apple. They are very rarely (if ever) updated. Updates would appear in Software Update.

To update them for Windows, go to www.nvidia.com
