My friend's Macbook Pro is identical to mine - 2.4GHz 13" Unibody but whereas mine says "Macbook Pro" on the black bit underneath the screen, hers just says "Macbook"

Why is this?!

When the first aluminium unibody Macs came out there were 13" MacBooks (not Pros) and 15" Pros. If I remember it was a mess! The MBs consisted of the old white one and a couple of unibodies. The 15" MBPs had new unibody models, but the 17" took a while to go uni.

If your friend purchased it in late 2008 to early 2009 Apple were selling unibody MacBooks.

See here

Strange! I didn't know that. It's looks like exactly the same specs as my Mid 2010 MBP!

The battery will be sealed in on yours but hers will be removable. Also hers won't have an SD-Card slot.

Great typos ;)

But yes, I remember at one point in the store they had aluminium MB and MBPs with the only real differencce being the lack of removable battery on the MBP!

Don't forget his ninja skills allow him to type with his mouse, probably some network issue, ninjas don't fail.
Just look at his profile pic!
