So I am having an odd issue with my MacBook Pro. Since I've begun hooking up my external display again yesterday, it has been working fine until this point. Now, the built-in MacBook Pro screen is blank (the backlight is on but nothing appears on screen) even on startup but the screen will fully work when a monitor is plugged in. Once I unplug the monitor, the MacBook Pro screen seizes to work yet again. So, there is nothing wrong with the screen itself.

I had a similar problem yesterday and found it was due to my MacBook Pro being set to a higher resolution than it can support; hooking it back up and switching the display to 1440x900 solved the problem. However, set to the higher resolution the screen would still not work even with the monitor plugged in and the resolution is fine so that is not the issue.

I have messed around with every option Display Preferences provides to no dice. It does not even appear that somebody else has had this issue before, but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
