Macbook Pro screen blink and freeze

Hello

I have Macbook Pro 15'' A1226 from 2008, and sometimes display blinks few seconds and after that computer freezes. I can move mouse, but computer did not respond to anything - I have to turn it off by holding power button for a few seconds. Sometimes it happens 3-4 times in a hour, and sometimes once per a day. I have Windows 7 installed on bootcamp and I think it has never happened using windows - only on Mac OS. I tried to install snow leopard and lion, and it was the same. Problem was there in both cases.

The graphics could possibly be going bad.

Might be a good time to look into buying a new machine.
