Hey

My MBP 2.4ghz Santa Rosa which I purchased 3-4 weeks ago, I screen seems to flicker ever so slightly when the brightness is turned to the middle or lower.

Also my MBP has developed a slight whine,

So I'm not sure what to do.

Also is this true? - If I DONT have AppleCare, Apple wont come and collect my laptop but I have to send it to an Apple Authorized Retailer and they will ship it?

However, if I buy AppleCare, they will come and collect it?

Obviously, being a student and spending over £2,000 ($4,000) on this laptop - It's a premium product and no faults should be developing so soon!

Thanks!

Do you think I'm entitled to a brand new MBP?

Screen Flicker

Hey there,

Your Macbook will still be under warranty, so Apple are obliged to collect it from you and fix the problem. On the subject of applecare, if you bought the machine from your college/university server so that you could take advantage of the student discount, then you automatically get the applecare protection plan for free. This is not something that apple tells you, but when I got an email 13 months after buying my Macbook Pro telling me that it was now covered, I was pleasently surprised. So enjoy.
