Macbook Pro Screen issue

Hey guys
first time poster long time reader

just wondering if anyone has any idea whats goin on with my screen

all of a sudden it goes hazy with horizontal and vertical lines and after a while goes back to normal

is it a hardware issue or a software issue?

bought late 2007

MacBookPro 3,1
Intel Core 2 Duo
2.2 GHz

I would say it's a hardware issue. Early signs of a failing graphics card perhaps.

That is obviously hardware. Take it to an Apple store if convenient or call AppleCare. They will more then likely exchange the motherboard and it will fix the problem. There is a much smaller chance that it's the internal video cable or the screen itself.

Would they try repair the issue or replace the whole unit if its the logic board?

How long would they take to fix it

They will replace the motherboard.

They will replace the motherboard.

May take up to a week depending on repair queue.

Ive connected it to a LCD TV and the picture comes out fine on the LCD TV but is still fuzzy on the mac.

Would this be display related or could it still be motherboard related.
