Macbook Pro screen issues

Hello, today this has happened twice. It has never happened to me previously. My screen has just gone pitch black. The first time I didn't really pay much attention, because it quickly came back on, but this second time I payed attention because it happened again. My mouse cursor was visible, I could see the brightness buttons icon's change when I lowered and raised the brightness. My ipod was plugged in the first time this happened and the second time. It also automatically disconnected both times and once it was disconnected the screen came back on. Any ideas please.

Forgive me for checking the obvious, but what have you got your "sleep" settings set to? Could it have gone to sleep through inactivity?

Computer Sleep is every 25 minutes

Display Sleep is every 25 minutes.

I guess I don't remember if I wasn't using it for awhile and just laying there on my bed. xD I will pay close attention and post back if it happens again, you may be right.
