Hello everybody,

This morning something strange happened. My otherwise perfectly fine working macbook pro retina 13' (bought early 2014 and running Capitan) kind of chrashed and I hoped one of you can help me out. I opened it to put it out of slumber, I never shut down my macbook, and my screen stayed completely black. Even the apple logo on the back would not light up. The starting sound appears every time I restarted it and the light for the caps lock key works, but the backlight for the other keys doesn't. So the first thing I did was doing al the resets that people recommend. Holding the shift key, NVRAM/PRAM, command R, SMC, all to no avail. I did manage to get the light back on the screen, I could tell this was the case because the apple logo lit up but the rest of the screen was still black. However I didn't manage to do that again.
A friend of mine suggested that there might be some loose cables but before I attempt such things I wanted to know if others have encountered this problem before.

Any help is very much appreciated!
