Hi guys,

I have a 17" MacBook Pro I got about 4 years ago. Somebody dropped it and the screen is totally screwed like it is coming apart from the keyboard. I took it to apple and the guy said it would cost about $600 to replace the whole thing. I was wondering if it was worth it to repair it or just get a new laptop. If so what kind of laptop do you guys recommend? I don't really use my laptop for gaming but more for school and work.

Thank you!

15 inch rMBP??

You seem to be a perfect candidate for this only due to screen size. Any of the current MacBooks will certainly do standard school and work apps. If you can pop to your local apple stockist and have a play one will seem right I'm sure.

A 13 inch rMBP is a good compromise on size power and portability. A 2013 model from the refurb store will save you a wad of cash and be just as good as the current ones.
