Macbook Pro Screen problem (early 2008)

Hey

I'm having a periodically problem with my screen on my early 2008 Macbook Pro. As you can see in the attachment I get these black "silos" of light / color at the bottom of my screen. It happens periodically when I start my machine and the only way to remove it is to restart or go to standby and out of standby. Does anyone know of this problem?
