macbook pro screen question .. early 2008 vs late 2008

i keep hearing and reading that the newest macbook pros now have led screens, didn't the early 2008 models have them also ?

The LED screens have been around since the SR MBP release June 07. They are not new since this is already the third MBP release to have them. Maybe what your reading is the Glass part of the screen is new.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a different LED though. I had an LED MBP Merom and that compared to my new MBP alu/glass is totally different. Glossy screen aside, it's still an updated LED.

But yea the last two revisions of the old body style MBPs had LED screens.

i was in apple today and i asked the guy there if the screens, besides the new ones being glass, were the same resolution and quality. He said they are and they both are LED backlit

The new screens are noticeably brighter and seem to have better color saturation than the old screens.

The new one looks great when comparing it side by side with my SR MBP (June 07 vs. Oct 08). Both are glossy, but the new one clearly wins by leaps and bounds.
