macbook pro search toolbar ERROR HELP

i can't search anything from my toolbar search, before i can type anything and it'll redirect me to google.com
now it just shows http://x&$search_param$=$search_id$ after i pressed enter
i recently downloaded mxplayer but i deleted the file and emptied my trash
help please

(the picture i uploaded showed what happens when i tried searching the word 'liver')

where did you download mxplayer from (is it mxplayer, or MPlayerX) ?

You might have installed an adware/malware.

Use this soft (formerly AdwareMedic).

Bruno is right on target. MPlayerX has been installing adware bundled with its installer. Really skeevy.

The MalWareBytes app Bruno linked will remove it for you.
