Macbook Pro: sell 17 inch core2duo for 15 inch i7

If "money is not an issue" then why are you bothering to ask... If you would rather have 15", then go for it. If you don't care about screen size, then why bother? If you really care about processing power, and money truly isn't an issue, then sell the C2D 17", and buy an i7 17".
is the i7 enough to give up 2 inchs and screen resolution or is 15 preferred over 17?

LOL clearly you want a new one enough to make a poll so ppl can make you feel better about dropping cash on a want more than a need =) its ok most of us probably ordered the new one as a want not a need 
How is that not an option? Your poll asks if you should keep a 17" or get a 15" with i7. So why can't you choose between a 17" i7 and a 15" i7 it's like the same choice between your old 17" and the new 15" considering money is not the issue.

this is so TRUE! I just want to make sure I am getting a better machine. I guess I should have said is a 15 inch i7 a "better" machine than a 17 inch c2d. The processor on the c2d is 2.8 while on the i7 its 2.66.
then its the 17 vs 15. while i really like the 17 there are plenty of times i think its too big but there are times that i like the big screen. with a 27 inch imac I was just thinking why lug around a 17 incher now.
I just want to be getting something that is better and different than what I have. Also the 15 does not have a high res screen I am looking forward to bigger text but something in me says high def 1080p. On a little laptop that sure does make stuff small.

I just voted to buy the new one it's so much fun to spend others money. As long as money is not a problem I'd get the 512 ssd and 8 g ram should be just a tad over 4000 unless you want apple care.

1) I would sell the C2D if only because the 15 and 17" C2D MBPs resale value is going to take a hard hit -- if it hasn't already.
2) If you like the 17" form factor why not just get the i5 17"? It's about the same price as the i7, similar specs except for the proc. and as the benchmarks have shown, there isn't a whole lot of performance difference b/t the i5 and i7 that Apple is using.

Thank-you for the info. I will compare new 17 i5 to new 15 i7. and your right the c2d is just going to drop in re-sale value.
