MacBook Pro Serial Number

Hey everyone,

I currently have my Macbook Pro (latest) for sale and an anonymous person contacted me because he's interested in buying it. But the problem is that he asked me for it's serial number so he could check it's AppleCare/Warranty status.

I'm not sure whether this is safe or not.
I mean... what else could he do with my serial number?

Giving a single person your SN really has minimal, if any, risks, especially if you are about to get rid of the computer. You really don't have much of a choice, as I don't think anyone would buy a used laptop of the MBP's price range without checking the SN to verify legitimacy.

Nah not to worry. Asking for the SN when you are buying a Mac is pretty standard procedure (for the smart people, at least....)
