I just received a new 15" MBP and, as usual with new Macs, plugged it into my old machine, a PowerBook G4, to transfer all the files across. About 1 minute to go, the new MBP put up a message to say that the old machine wasn't responding!! End of file transfer! Not impressed as this is the sort of rubbish you'd expect from Windows. I eventually got around the problem by taking both machines to work, backing up all the G4 onto a LaCie drive, then wiping the new MBP using the disc provided and then installing the files directly from the back-up. It worked but what a hassle compared to the usual transfer. I asked around and two of my colleagues had the same problem, one with a similar MBP and the other with a MacBook so it wasn't just me. Has anyone else had the same thing happen? Is this something Apple know about and will hopefully fix? Clifft
