Hello everyone, I recently purchased a MBP 13'' i7 and installed a m4 SSD. I noticed that whenever I close the lid the indicator pulses for about an hour or less, then it turns off completely. When I open the lid the computer turns on, the superdrive initializes (makes that mechanical sound), and it resumes.

I have searched to find out whether or not this is normal, but all I can find are threads on obvious sleep malfunctions. I just want to know if this is like a hibernation mode and how I can disable it. I can't figure it out in the settings.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, but this is already going into full sleep, and about an hour later the indicator shuts off. The superdrive initializes as if it were shutdown perviously, I just want to know if this is normal.

Do you experience this with your MBP?

This sounds very much like the deep sleep feature Apple launched with the new Airs some time back. I read somewhere (but can't find it) that the feature may in fact be enabled on all newish laptops with an SSD installed.

RGDS,

RGDS,

Hey thanks, I found this thread though.

Some people are saying it is a problem with the new update, but I will look into what you have told me.

Thanks again.
