I have a MaBook Pro and until recently when I walked away and left it, it would automatically select sleep after about 15 minutes. Now when I do the same thing it goes to screen saver and NOT sleep as it used to. Have I accidentally set something that has upset the machine???

Have you checked in System Preferences under “Energy Saver”?

If you manually make the Mac sleep by selecting it from the Apple menu, does it appear to go to sleep?

Yes, it will "sleep" if I select sleep from the Apple drop down.
I have done nothing "different" that I can remember, but this morning it actually "went to sleep" whilst I was in the office.
So it looks like it has had it's "hissy fit" and now wants to be nice........ We hope.
Thanks for your reply and I will come back to this thread if it misbehaves again.

Yeah, sometimes something as simple as a reboot will fix these issues. It could be that some program wasn't responding and that kept the system from sleeping.
