I was wondering, if the Apple MacBook Pros sold at Costco are the current 2018 models? How would I know if its last years defective keyboard for 2017?

Here are pics of the discounted MBP. I noticed the regular price (before discount) doesn't match the retail price of the current 2018 MBP's sold at Apple. Does this mean these laptops sold at Costco are all 2017 models discounted?

You will get the answer if you search the model number that starts with M and S for AppleCare.

The Costco pricing is cheaper than the one in the link by $30. Prices on Apple will always be higher than what retailer will offer because of their discounts. You won't get such discounts from Apple unless you get a refurbished device.

You even get discounts on the AppleCare from Costco.

It's a Costco mystery. They seem to be the 2018 models, and yet they say the i5 CPU is dual core, not quad core. Either's it's a typo, or Apple made a special model for Costco.

Costco sells both the 2017 and 2018 Macbook Pros. Both on display in their stores, at least at the one by my house here in Dallas. Website has them as well and they are clearly marked what they are, either 8th gen (quad core) or 7th gen (dual core) CPU.

The model numbers for the dual cores on the web site are for the quad core machines. The duo core machines say they have the 8th generation CPU's, which are for the quad core machines.

But these price tags neither say 7th. or 8th. gen. Would I need to have them pull a box from the stockroom so I can read for myself or do a search on the model number? I'm going back to Costco, maybe tomorrow, to ask about these displayed MBP's, whether its 2017 or 2018.

You can just go into About This Mac and check at Costco. They have mostly low-end models there. I have gone through all of the MacBook Pros and iMacs at my local Costco.

Interesting that Costco sells Macs. We don’t have a Costco but Sam’s club doesn’t sell them.

Costco sells a wide variety of stuff and sometimes it comes to Costco to never be seen again. Our Costco has sold iPhones for ages and only started carrying iPads a few years ago. The iMac and MacBook Pros are only recent. There's an Apple Store across the street from our Costco and the only reason you'd buy at Costco is for the discount.

The 15 inch MR932LL/A and the 13 inch MR9Q2LL/A are both 2018 models according to Mactracker. http://mactracker.ca

The MPX2TLL/A 13 inch is not in Mactracker, but B&H lists it as a 2017.
Thank your for checking. So Costco is selling a mix of 2017 and 2018 models. Unless a buyer checks the model number, they wouldn't know they are buying a 2017 model.

Being in a warehouse perhaps the Keyboards will come out of the box with keys already getting stuck

Lol

(Easy now - just joking guys)

But the discount is also for the older model which some may not know is older. I only happen to notice it because of the retail price on those pics I uploaded. It doesn't match the current MBP prices on Apple site. So I questioned if these laptops were older models discounted because they may be previous year's models.
