Does anyone know if Apple has fixed the keyboard issue on the MacBook Pros sold this 2018? My early 2011 MacBook Pro is dying but I'm unsure if it's wise to get a new one coz of the keyboard problem.

Apple has not fixed the keyboard.

Look for a 2015 version, whether refurbished, new, or used.

The MacBook Pro's being sold today -are not- "2018 models".
They are the 2017 product release.

Agree with what Naimfan wrote above.
I cannot recommend ANY 2017 MacBook Pro, due to the higher probability of keyboard failure.
Find a 2015-design model that suits you, or "keep waiting" for a possible 2018 release later this year.

Wait for a 3rd gen keyboard or get a 2015 MBP. I would be cautious w/ 3rd gen keyboard as well because only time will tell if they really fixed the keyboards or not. Just because they updated w/ a new gen doesn't mean it's fixed. Updating/redesigning/fixing their keyboard is pretty much warranted at this point b/c I just don't see how they can continue to sell macbooks as is.

In just 3 weeks since purchase my keyboard is already driving me insane - I have been repeatedly losing all my messages while typing emails of blogs like this.
l took out a 3-year warranty; if I go to the Apple Store, can I ask to exchange for a 2015 MBP? Everyone seems to suggest that is their best keyboard - indeed Macbook - ever.
Advice?

Ouch haven’t you head? New MacBook Pros are out with an improved keyboard.

Hey Nigel, you may want to ask them if they will allow you to exchange your 2017 MacBook Pro for the new 2018. I had done that years ago, when asked nicely, they have been nice enough to make exceptions past the return period.

Most of these posts were before the announcement.

Hi Doug,
I will certainly try that. I will call them to see if that's possible.
What do you make of those saying the 2015 MacBook has yet to be beaten - as it uses the old style of keyboard?
