We have several Macbook Pro laptops in our office and all seem to have a more muted sound than several of our macbooks. We have older Macbook Pros like mine to the brand new ones and we have to turn the volume all the way up to hear what I would call an "average" sound level. We can take the same site or music on one of our macbooks and we have to turn the volume down considerably to get to that "average" sound level.
Just wondering why that is?

...lower powered amp in the speakers and older speaker tech/internal design?

Is that official or a guess? Because I'm experiencing the same thing.

I had my old version unibody replaced with the newer one and the sound is definitely different. The new medium is the old versions low.
