Macbook pro speakers making horrible noise

Hello there

this morning I went to turn my mbp on and the first thing I noticed is that it didn't play that starting up sound just a noise. When it loaded the os the speakers starting to make a horrible noise and no sound could be played. I tried the headphones and nothing, no noise or sound playing.

I opened the mbp and checked the connexions but everything seems fine.

I have done a clean snow leopard install and still the same. have the logic board gone bad???

PS: is a 2007 macbook pro 17"

I think is time for a new mac. it's been four years and this is the only problem I've ever had...
