Prof. macrumors 603 Aug 17, 2007 5,376 2,206 Chicagoland Nov 10, 2012 #2 If you only put the screen to sleep, the fans will continue to spin at around 1990RPM. For the fans to stop spinning, the computer itself will have to enter hibernation - closing the lid for example.
