Hello everyone! Could not find an answer to my question so decided to create this thread. I've got a macbook pro 15 inch mid 2010. After installing Mavericks noticed that my laptop began to heat a lot without any heavy apps running. Using smcFanControl app I can see that it is always running at 80 degrees Celsius with fans working at 4600 rpm when on default, and when I set up the fans to work at 6000 rpm almost nothing changes except the noise of working fans is increased. Please help.

Can you go back to Mountain Lion and see if it goes away? What does Activity Monitor show is going on on your machine when this happens?
