My macbook pro is the latest on the market. (I'm not sure if that makes it a 2012 or 2013)

I just opened it today and everything was working fine until I tried to give my hardrive a name and everything froze up. I let it sit for a few minutes but in my panic I shut it off and turned it back on. Now it's stuck at the opening white screen with the little grey apple.

How do I fix this?

Hmm.
Boot from USB installer or DVD or Recovery Partition and check the hard disk?

Plug in external HD with OS and boot from that, see if you can access the HD.

Reset SMC NVRAM?

Wrong forum bud. This is Mac Pro (the desktops) you want this forum.

Try a command-r boot to recovery then use Disk Utility to do a repair disk and see what if any error messages you get.
