A few times over the past couple of weeks, including a few minutes ago, the sudden motion sensor on my Mid-2010 MacBook Pro becomes stuck, making the "clicking" noise over and over again. Unlike normal, it doesn't click once, it clicks time after time until I intentionally jolt the computer quickly to make it re-activate then act normally again. Am I the only one with this problem? Perhaps resetting the SMC or PRAM could fix this? Thanks.

Are you sure it's what you think it is, if you hear the clicking i think it's the HD going bad, I just tried on mine and I have to put my ear on the laptop to hear it.

I do know though that if you hear fairly loud clicking it's the HD on it's way out, check smart status and keep your backup up to date.

I'm afraid that's the case. The SMART status says verified under Disk Utility, so here's to hoping it was just a SMS glitch. Time will tell if resetting the SMC did anything. Thanks! :)
