15 inch early 2011 macbook pro

The last few weeks, suddenly the battery life is very short from what was 3+ hours. The battery info is
Battery Information:

Model Information:
Serial Number: D8611740302DGDLAH
Manufacturer: SMP
Device Name: bq20z451
Pack Lot Code: 0
PCB Lot Code: 0
Firmware Version: 406
Hardware Revision: 2
Cell Revision: 158
Charge Information:
Charge Remaining (mAh): 35
Fully Charged: Yes
Charging: No
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 35
Health Information:
Cycle Count: 215
Condition: Service Battery
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): 246
Voltage (mV): 11630

Can the battery just die suddenly or should the capacity slowly degrade?

With that spec MBP and a relatively small amount of battery cycles, it shouldn't have dropped so significantly so quickly. You may want to visit an Apple Store to have the Genius' check the computer out.

EDIT: Just seen the status of your battery in the log, it should not be saying 'Service Battery' this early on.
