My Macbook Pro (older model, OSX 10.5.7) simply will not accept discs anymore. Every time I insert a disc, whether it's a CD, DVD, DVD-R anything it sits there, whirrs for a bit, then spits it right back out.
Every once in a while it will accept a DVD after like 20 tries, but I don't know where to even start looking for a fix for this.
Anyone else had this problem?
Any help is appreciated thank you so much!

I had the exact same problem as the OP - no matter what type of DVD or CD I inserted, it would just eject back out. Also had an "older" MBP (late 2007).
I had to have the superdrive AND logic board replaced.

The first attempt to replace the superdrive to resulted in the same problem. So next they replaced the logic board - same problem. So they then ordered and replaced another superdrive and that seemed to have fixed the problem. It's been working fine ever since.

If you have AppleCare I suggest that you take it in ASAP.
