MacBook Pro takes ages to install windows 8.1

Hi Guys,
I have just bought a new out of the box MacBook Pro with Intel core i5. I needed to install win 8.1. After partitioning, mac asked to begin installation from DVD drive, it restarts and comes up with a white screen. The white screen has been there more than five hours now
Did I do something wrong?
I ve done this on a macbook white and a 2010 macbook pro before and I didn't experience this.
Pls help.
