macbook pro- there is no connected camera on photobooth??

I opened my photobooth a few minutes ago and the screen where you would normally see yourself is black with the words there is no connected camera. it's a macbook pro, the camera worked yesterday. the light that normally goes on is black, or in other words. not on. please help
