Have tried to connect my Macbook Pro to Panasonic HDTV today using:

Display port --> DVI --> DVI --> HDMI

Haven't got the sound working yet but the cable is yet to arrive.

I get the desktop through the TV fine but this is where my problem lies. The the cursor appears on the TV screen, so when I try to open the DVD player I click to open it on the TV but it only opens it on the Macbook. No apps appear to want to load on my TV.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

What is your screen arrangement?

System Preferences > Display > Arrangement

Drag the white bar on the graphic to the HDTV.

Have you dragged the application windows to the TV?

Have you tried selecting MIRROR DISPLAYSin System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement? Have dragged the Menu Bar tot the TV to make it the main monitor, thus applications open on the TV as standard?
