I have a Macbook Pro 17" from middle 2009 version 10.5.8 and a LG 32" LCD TV (LG 32 LCD-TV 32LD550N). The LG TV is true HD 1080p and when I connect my Macbook Pro to it using a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter I get the resolution option 1920 x 1080, 60.0 Hz. However when I choose that option the picture on the TV becomes all pushed together to the right and I have loads of black space to the left. So if I for example look at a circle it isn't circular but rather oval shaped. If I could just stretch the picture out over the whole screen it would be perfect, does anyone know how to do that?

I'm guessing the adaptor is the culprit here. What are the inputs on the back of the TV?
