macbook pro to tv color issues

hello,
I have my macbook hooked up to my tv with hdmi cable a rocketfish one to be exact cost around 100.00 and the best buy dynex vga cable. Not sure if that matters but anyway the color is very bright. The header of this web site is white and some things are very hard to see. Is there a how to for fixing the color issue
