I am having trouble connecting my Macbook Pro (OS X Yosemite) to my TV (Dynex) with an HDMI cable.
I was successfully doing this and watching a movie from my laptop on my TV about a week ago, and halfway through the movie the TV screen turned black and said "no signal". Now every time I try to connect through HDMI it says no signal.
On my laptop, however, it recognizes the HDMI connection and the display mirroring options show up.
The HDMI cord works separately with my laptop and separately with the TV, just not with both of them together.
I'm not sure what the problem is, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
UPDATE: I tried connecting my laptop to a different TV with a different HDMI cable and had the same issue, so the problem seems to be my laptop. It recognizes when it is connected to a TV, but the TV does not recognize the laptop.
