Hi Hi,
My brother just got a new macbook pro (13inch) for Christmas and he wants to use it as a DVD player as he only has a tv in his house, no cable Etc. He previously had a macbook with a mini-dvi to rca adaptor but the new macbook pro has mini-displayport. Is it possible to use a mini-displayport to vga adaptor and then a vga to rca cable?

why dont you just buy a dvd player? The cost of the adapters is about the same price as a dvd player anyway.

Does this TV only have RCA inputs? Would be better just watching on the MB.

no, it also has scart cable input too, because the couch faces the tv... not really a better reason. just handy

Because this way he can also watch itunes films etc too.
