So I'm in college and my bed is lofted.

I regularly sleep with my MacBook Pro... well I learned my lesson and will never do it again after last night.

My $2000 MacBook Pro while I was sleeping fell 7 feet.

I immediately woke up scared as ****, woke up my roommate, and had to crawl to get the MacBook Pro which was between the bedframe and the wall.

I checked it, no damage. Everything still works.... Everything except a very very big scrape on the frame.

Now I can say my MacBook Pro has character. :)

+1 to the amazing engineering that goes into these things.

*Shivers at the thought* Any dents? If no, count yourself one lucky chap!:)

dang! i refuse to use my MBP in my bed since it is also lofted... i don't want my machine (which is supposed to last me all 4 years) to fall even 1 inch, let alone 7 feet... although my bed is only 5.5 feet off the ground.

Just a word of warning, your hard drive may die on its arse at any given moment.

Mine suffered a cataclysmic event after i dropped it from my sofa. If I were you, and I hadn't already, I'd do a full drive back up.
