Hi everyone,

I come to you as i've just heard there was a screen replacement program for the Macs from 2016 that had Touch Bar because of an issue with the screen. I checked and my serial number and model correspond, however my screen had a little accident about a year ago (an iphone cable got stuck when i closed the lid during the night and it shattered a bit of the bottom (cf picture).
I was wondering if some of you thought it could still be possible or if they'll flat out refused? (my apple store is not near my place, and it's impossible to get an appointment ahead so it's quite the trip).
I'm also attaching the picture of my screen and the "shadows" it's casting at the bottom. I've noticed for a long time this issue, more so when it's full brightness but i've always thought it was normal.

Thanks for your feedback, it is very appreciated!

Technically they’ve acknowledged an issue with the screen so whether it’s damaged or not I’d argue they should still replace it. But then it’s really difficult to predict what Apple will do. Can you call the store and speak to someone?

Thanks for your feedback, i appreciate :) Should I print the replacement program, so I have some proof in case they are not aware of it ?

PS : I have no idea how this store is run, but no one answers the phone either (should you find the number) and since it's the only Apple store in the region (the next one is 2.5 hours away) it's always packed / quite full. In any case, i'll try and stop by and the worse case scenario i have a nice car ride.

You’re welcome 🙂! If you’re driving all that way and have a printer then I’m sure there’s no harm in printing it out and bringing it with you. In the UK, to see a technician (a ‘Genius’) you need to book in advance. This might be different in your region but I don’t know and I don’t want you to waste your time with the drive. If you’re not able to speak to anyone at Apple on any of the support numbers then I guess you have no choice. There must be a phone number for your region though surely?

Hi, so i went to the apple store without an appointment (as it was unable to take one by internet nor by phone). After a 2 hours wait, they said they would change the screen/take it under the replacement program only if they find no water damage (i don't remember ever spilling anything but now i'm worried). Anyhow, must wait one week for the piece to arrive and then 2/3 weeks of reparation. It's going to be long, hoping all goes smoothly !
Again thanks for your advice :)
