hey guys, my trackpad is acting really weird.. when i'm navigating or browsing around the mouse cursor suddenly jumps couple of inches on the screen..it goes from center to the end of the page..It has become a major annoyance

I have tried everything from unchecking the "Ignore accidental trackpad input" to increasing/decreasing the mouse sensitivity/tracking speed option in the preferences.

I don't have any third party software e.g. Sidetrack installed on my MBP.

please help :(

i have the same problem as you, only i don't have that 3rd party software installed. it can get pretty annoying. i find that it doesn't occur when using a USB mouse.

I don't have sidetrack or any other third party trackpad driver/software installed. Yes, the problem goes away when using a USB mouse.

on my laptop this happen from time to time. I started taking a cloth and putting a little windex on it and just cleanning the track pad.

I always figure it from oil getting built up in it and the computer is being confused by the oils coating it after a while.

windex? for real? i clean my computer regularly with iKlear.. windex sounds a bit too abrasive, especially on sensitive track pad material.
