I have an mid 2008 Macboork Pro Unibody. When I go to power it on, absolutely nothing happens. The board receives no power. The inidicator LED on the MagSafe charger will sometimes come on, sometimes not. Right now, I have the motherboard out of the Mac.

Has anyone else ever had this issue and was able to fix it without replacing the motherboard? Could it be a fuse or IC? I could buy a working motherboard on ebay that has backlight issues, and possibly fix that, but would rather see if I can deal with what I have first.

Thanks for you help in advance.

the 2008 15" macbook pro boards are known for issues. its hard to say if the gpu is gone or something else on the board without measuring volts. I would go buy the board on ebay and fix it
