I bought the Macbook Pro last week and noticed that it has some very slow charging times. For an example, today the battery went upto 57% and then I plugged it in to charge. Now it's at 95% AFTER 4 hours!!! Why is it taking so long?

As a general rule of thumb, I find that charging a laptop while running takes about as long as it took to discharge in the first place. For example, if I have 5 hours of battery life and operate off the battery for 2 hours (to 60%), to recharge while the computer is running will take another 2 hours. You will get significantly faster speeds if you put the computer to sleep or turn it off while charging.
