So after a year of owning my 2011 15" MBP with the 2.0ghz i7 quad core I've decided to treat myself to a few upgrades -

Crucial 16GB RAM - up from 4GB original.
Apple/Toshiba OEM 256GB SSD - up from 500GB 5400RPM.

I will be installing a clean install of Mountain Lion - up from Snow Leopard.

I can't wait to see what sort of differences I will see ! :D

Let me know how the Crucial is, because I was going to order OWC. A little more expensive. Did u order already ?

Yes I've already ordered the RAM from Crucial. I've had good luck with Crucial RAM in the past - have it in my iMac in my sig for 2 years now.

I'm about to do the same thing to my 2011 cMBP-15 2.0 i7. At 8GB now but going to 16GB and doing a Momentus XT instead of 256GB SSD. For me the size/price/performance tradeoff favors the hybrid.
