Sorry if I'm doing anything wrong. I have looked around this site a long time before, but just registered my account to ask this.

So I ordered my MBP on May 30th, and so far the delivery has been going pretty speedy. But as of two days, my MBP has been stuck at Louisville, Kentucky.

Here is all the information I have:

LOUISVILLE, KY, US 06/06/2010 8:54 ARRIVAL SCAN
ANCHORAGE, AK, US 05/06/2010 19:38 DEPARTURE SCAN
05/06/2010 16:05 ARRIVAL SCAN
SHANGHAI, CN 06/06/2010 5:19 DEPARTURE SCAN
SHANGHAI, CN 05/06/2010 16:40 DEPARTURE SCAN
SHANGHAI, CN 04/06/2010 20:40 EXPORT SCAN
04/06/2010 20:28 HUB SCAN
04/06/2010 13:00 ORIGIN SCAN
CN 04/06/2010 22:46 BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

It's amazing that my order has been stuck for 2 days... I was patient enough for last night, but expecting it to move this morning... this just makes me sad.

I'm wondering if this is normal? Also, I don't have an expected delivery date from UPS anymore... a week ago it would say I would get it by the 10th... other times it has said the 9th, and the Apple guestimate says the 11th... but from what I remember, I believe the 10th was the last time is said, which was about 5 days ago.

So, is there a chance I will receive my MacBook Pro without even being notified? Is there a chance they missed a scan at Louisville or anywhere else? Any help and experience on this is appreciated.

EDIT:
I live in west Canada (Calgary, AB) btw... but I researched, and should expect it in Ontario or somewhere like that next.

It can take up to 24 hours for carrier to update their site. Your best bet is to call UPS and ask when will you get it

UPS has awful tracking imo...last shipment I had with them showed "billing info received" for a week...then all of the sudden it was delivered, and there were 15 new entries all inputed at the same time.

Anyway...relax...it's coming!

It always gets stuck in kentucky. 4 friends have all ordered CTO macbooks and they all spent a couple days in louisville according to the ups site. Try going to the mobile site: m.ups.com it seems to be updated earlier than the main site.

Yeah dude, patience..

The guesstimates are usually pretty accurate, less a plane fails to fly or something.

UPS is mostly a Monday through Friday business. Not at all surprising that a package arriving into Louisville on a Sunday morning doesn't move again for a while.

Ah, thanks that makes a lot of sense now.

Thanks everyone for the help, and I'm sorry for the late response, just got back from work.

Anyway, I just checked and there was finally a departure:
LOUISVILLE, KY, US 08/06/2010 15:53 DEPARTURE SCAN

So it wasn't a update delay, rather just sitting at Kentucky for quite a while.

Does anyone know what would be kind of an expected destination from Louisville? And then from there? I'm in Calgary, AB.

Alright, will do. I'm actually not sure which is the right number to call UPS... I've never ordered anything online in my life, and I'm not familiar with much of the terms... On the Canadian "Contact UPS" page, there is a few numbers:
Domestic Services within Canada
English Tel.: 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877)
French Tel.: 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877)
Mandarin and Cantonese Tel.: 1-800-233-8133

and

International Services Originating in Canada
Tel.: 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877)

which one should I call for tracking?

It will go to buffalo, then either mount hope, ontario or somewhere out west.

So I phoned UPS... and although on the website it says it has departed Louisville, the package is already going through customs. This is faster then I expected, but I asked when the package would be expected to arrive, and the guy said it would arrive June 14th, 2010... that's a Monday.

I asked if he was sure, because I remember the original expected date was the 11th, and then changed to the 10th. He said it would be there at the end of the business day of June 14th, because it is an international package which will take a while in customs.

I'm wondering, what's the typical / general length these MBP's have to go through to pass customs?
Do you think this could be a really rough/pessimistic estimate, and it's possible it could arrive before the weekend?

I'm in Vancouver. My MBP went from Shanghai>Anchorage>Louisville>Buffalo>Ontario>Winnipeg>Calgary>Vancouver. Shipping took 6 days.

Just checked the site, and it has arrived at Mount Hope just a couple hours ago. It briefly past through Buffalo in the night too.
MOUNT HOPE, ON, CA 09/06/2010 6:03 IMPORT SCAN
09/06/2010 5:38 ARRIVAL SCAN

So I'm guessing when it gets its "DEPARTURE SCAN", that'll mean it has passed customs and is now getting out of Mount Hope?
Should I expect it before the weekend if it departs by tomorrow?

Not likely before the weekend. Mine took 2 days to get from mount hope to the ottawa area. You're looking at delivery next week most likely.

But I looked at other peoples tracking, and it looks like it takes less than a day from departure at Mount Hope to western Canada. And most cases it takes a full day to stay in customs, it appears.

Mine took overnight to get from mount hope to the vancouver sorting center. The place seems to hop from mount hope>winnipeg>calgary>vancouver.

I've been tracking my package, and the MBP arrived in Calgary at 3:50AM. I phoned UPS to when I'd expect it to be delivered, and they say Monday June 14th. Now, I know this is bullcrap. Even if it does deliver on Monday, I know it's because they'll be letting it sit in the facility for 4 days collecting dust.

I'm expecting it to arrive today. Friday at the latest. Would you say I'm right in expecting this?

Also, do you know if I can schedule to pick it up, if they do decide to leave it there by Monday? Honestly, the thought of my MBP sitting in a warehouse near my location for 4 days doing nothing just pisses me off, I should be able to pick it up myself.

You probably can. Give UPS a call.
