I have a MacBook Pro (15-Inch, 2018) and was hoping to use it to power a Belkin BoostUp Wireless Charging Pad 10W (F7U082) via a USB C to Micro USB Cable. I'd like to do this so I can talk on the phone via a wired headset while still charging my iPhone.

The MacBook Pro won't power the Charging Pad, even if the MacBook Pro is connected to its own power source. However, my company Lenovo T480 will power the Charging Pad.

Can someone shed some light on this? Is there a way to have the MacBook power this device? Or does anyone had success with the MacBook powering a different charging pad?

I apologize if there is already a similar thread on this.

Where did you get the USB C to Micro USB Cable? Apple products are very discriminatory when it come to which brand of cable works.

There are lots of different usb-c to micro usb cables that you can use to charge devices from the MBP usb-c port. I have a few and have never had any problems, but I tend to buy cables from respected.

It is an Amazon Brand Cable. Is there a brand of cable that is known to work? I know the cable and charger are not the issue as they work with my Lenovo.
