Hi

Recently I started unplugging my Macbook Pro (pre-unibody, late 2007) after I completely shut it down. When plugging it back in the next day, the green little lamp at the magsafe connector turns orange to charge the battery, even though I always shut it down with a full charge.

So I guess it somehow uses energy? Is this possible?

Batteries can lose a little bit of their charge while they sit unused. Just so you know, storing a battery at full charge isn't suggested. Sitting overnight probably won't cause any problems, but sitting an extended period can reduce the battery life.

Still draw a small amount of power for many little processes clocks wifi and bluetooth wake on sleep blah blah blah. And batteries will also slowly discharge with time.
