Hello everyone,

I have a Santa Rosa MacBook Pro 15" with glossy LCD. Here is what is going on with it...

After about a year and a half, the LCD would intermittently display garbage. I don't mean random characters (indicative of GPU crapout), I mean there would be blurred lines and streaks across the entire display (NO normal output was seen). The display would start displaying normal output, then it would fade into the streaks. I took it to the Apple store and they said I would need a logic board replacement. The problem continually got worse until no amount of coaxing would render proper output. I ordered a replacement LVDS cable from eBay, and that fixed it for about two months. Now the problem is starting to happen again.

Could it be the new LVDS cable is bad, or could it be the LVDS cable isn't bad at all and there's something else wrong?

I'm hoping someone else has experienced this issue and will be able to help me. Thanks!
