I was really tired last night and I put a glass of water on my laptop to quickly grab something. I then fell asleep. I woke up maybe 3 hours later, my laptop was still on but covered in water. It was also still on. I quickly dried the water and I noticed the Touch Bar wasn’t working. It made this really weird sound and died.

I then put it upside down and it’s been drying since then. I haven’t tried to put it on since then.

Any advice? I know how stupid this was.

One should never, never, NEVER put ANYTHING with liquid on it on one's MacBook.
An expensive lesson to learn.
Time for a new computer...
(or... a $$$ repair -- you might consider Apple-refurbished)

You’re basically hosed at this point. Write it off as a learning experience and get a replacement computer with a no liquid within 1 meter rule or something.

Dude, wtf where you thinkin’ ??? Water and electronics don’t do too well ? Well, I swim with my iPhone XR and no issues, but. Laptop no no ! Never ever put water or any liquid near the computer - since mistakes are learned from, make this one count !

Okay update, for anyone that’s interested. I left it off for a week. I put it on a while ago and I have no idea how but it’s working!!! Even the Touch Bar seems to be working fine. I don’t know how long it will work for but I’m so happy. I’ve definitely learned my lesson lol
