A lot of fuss is being made about the new MBP's having an updated Video Cam, and the resultant 'NotchGate'.
But does it really matter? The use of Video cameras has increased throughout the pandemic, but the trend I have seen, was to purchase an external cam. Even if the MBP had the equivalent of the Logitech BRIO 4k built in, it's location is inconvenient, essentially looking up my nostrils whilst camming, something I did a lot of this year, as I had many online interviews/meetings whilst I relocated 3/4 of the way around the world.
Many of the great youtube vloggers, you will see using dedicated equipment, and don't protest at how poor the built in cam is, they accept it's part of the device being portable. With a few well positioned lights and thought, the built in cam does do a pretty good job for the purpose of conferencing.
But have we just become obsessed with increasing aspects of technology, just for the sake of it. How good do we need our iPad cameras? The pursuit of perfect audio in airpods, yet they fall out of so many peoples ears, but no one seems to care, 'it's great tech'.
