Have a mid 2009 macbook pro 15inch. Lately I've been getting a wifi no hardware installed problem, my mac was also constantly jamming needing to force restart.

I re-formatted it and re-installed Mountain Lion, however now the wifi symbol does not even shot up at the top, and sometimes after a shut down it and re-switch on, it may connect to wifi, however it will jam after a while - maybe 5 minutes and force me to switch off from power button. When I would switch it back on it will start from scratch with no Wifi.

Warranty is finished and in Malta there isnt a quick/cheap service, so would appreciate any feedback as I've been around a month with this problem, and am forced to use ethernet, however this is extremely inconvenient as I switch off wifi for everyone else to use internet.

Looks like the hardware for the Airport Card inside the MBP is having issues.,

The best bet is to find a replacement online and change it out yourself, or simply just get a USB WiFi Adapter/Dongle. You could take it to the Apple store too.

I can't speak from experience as I've not seen this myself but it appears that the problem you have appeared (not necessarily initially) in OS X Lion and persists in Mountain Lion:

Hopefully these is far more useful to the OP than my post lol.

If not more useful in the end, at least a bit more readily available!

Speaking of usefulness, I don't know why but I haven't ever before noticed a post of yours until this thread and, after glancing at your signature, I'm finding out that you may have some use to you yet! :D

Seriously, some legit posts in your sig. Still working through 'em!

No, thank you.

micagius, let us know if what I posted ends up fixing this for you or if Orlandoech.com's suggestions end up being the solution.

Never ignore the easiest fix: clean contacts between daughter card and Mobo. Is free.
