I do remember Apple put an education discount. And people were saying th new macs are coming tommorow. So I checked Japan (apple.com/jp). Anyone that knows Japanese can tell us what day it ends? This could be leading to the release date of the MBP.

May 25th.

The iPod deal is usually used to clear out the current iPods before an update. I doubt it has any bearing on when the mbp will be updated.

They give out free ipods with the education discount in Australia and Japan?
Now, as we speak?

They do that here, in Canada, but normally just at the beginning of the school year (august-september).

Australia and Japan they are on different calendars for their respective school year (when compared to United States and Canada). School starts in April for the Japanese students and for the Australian students school starts late January (which should explain the current iPod promotions).
