Hi I am working on my son's MackBook Pro. He is unable to connect to the internet. His wireless and Ethernet connections both have a good IP address. And he is connected to the wireless network. But no internet. I have done the diagnostics from network under System Properties and it says that he is connected and internet works. In the network properties I can see that it is assigning the router IP as 192.168.2.7 that is incorrect my router is addressed 192.168.2.1 but the Mac will not let me set that IP when I try to set the network settings manually.
He has firewall set off until we get this sorted.
If he plugs in directly to the Ethernet coming into the house he has internet. We have Fibre Optic ISP service, so no modem. But not when it goes through my Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT firmware.
Why will the MAC not accept my router IP 192.168.2.1? It is a working LAN for all other clients.
The Linksys is set as DHCP server. With starting IP 192.168.2.100 possible 100 clients.
MacBook Pro operating system Snow Leopard 10.6.8
