Hi all,
I mainly use Hotspot on my iPhone plugged into USB for internet.

Everytime I try to connect to any WiFi Network, it says that i am connected. But as soon as I open Safari, it asks for a proxy username and password. Even when i try to use Hotspot wirelessly.

I have gone into the preferences and checked the HTTP Web Proxy username and password, changed them and applied the changes, but it still won't work, and as soon as i go back the the preferences, the box for 'Proxy Server requires password' is unchecked and the username and password are blank.

As you can probably tell, I'm not very tech savvy, and I've been looking all over the net but nothing i try is helping! I am worried because i am going overseas next week, and am hoping to be able to use Wifi in most places.

Cheers for any help

Reset your wifi and than change from WPA2 to WPA and it should be fix.

If I'm in a public area though, and i try to log onto a public Wifi network it still asks for a proxy username and password.
